All that could not attend on Sunday, December 13, 2009 missed another great District meeting. Hope to see more of you in the New Year. It was great to see Hoppi and Tambrey again.

HAINES CITY MOOSE RIDERS-Haines City had a very successful run for Past Gov. Danny Sobecki Sr. They raised $1040 and donated a total of $1530 to the family.

Sunday, January 31, 2010, will be the Lacey Pate Run. Lacey, an eight year old from Auburndale, is the third child ever known being born with King Syndrome in the U.S. She has overcome this crippling birth disorder that left her deformed and immobile for much of her life. The problems of this disease are chronic respiratory insufficiency, webbing of the neck, low set ears with severe hearing loss (she wears hearing aids), arthogryposis, which is contractures in all of her joints, so she can’t raise her arms up or straighten her wrist, fingers or legs. The joins in her knees are in a frozen state so her legs stay bent all the time, therefore she is unable to walk, she scoots on her bottom to get around in her house and rides a wheelchair everywhere else. She also was born with a severe clubfoot and vertical tailus, she has had surgery on her feet three times but still her feet can’t sit flat on the floor. More of her syndrome includes failure to thrive, so she has a G-tube for feedings to help with nutrition, malignant hypothermia which can cause death from anesthesia and she has coded twice from this, and hypoglycemia. Hoping everyone will join Haines City the morning of January 31st 9:00 A.M. to support LACEY PATE. You will be welcomed on a bike, in an automobile or any other means of transportation. ALL MOOSE MEMBERS ARE INVITED.

LAKE WALES-Lake Wales had a successful breakfast for the Moose Legion Celebration on December 6th and donated $63.00. After breakfast the Riders picked up toys at various locations in Lake Wales totaling $500. The toys were delivered to the Lake Wales Women’s Club to be distributed in Lake Wales.
The Moose Riders of Lake Wales had a fun time riding the Christmas Parade. Larry Piatt, who has not mounted a bike in nine months, gleamed riding high on the float as an angel going up the Highway to Heaven.
When Haines City stopped by the Lake Wales Lodge on Saturday, December 12th, a cash drawing raised an additional $52.00 for Past Gov. Sobecki.
Lake Wales Moose Riders donated $500 to their 2009 Local Charity, Circle of Friends.

For extra income, the Riders are selling Jell-O shots on Steak nights.
SOUTH LAKELAND-South Lakeland Mulberry will be hosting our Annual Poker Run on Sunday, January 17, 2010. This will be a District 20 Moose Riders Fundraiser. Rip is completing the run and posters for your bulletin board will be on their way soon.

OLD BUSINESS
It was decided the location of each District Moose Riders meeting would be where that months District Fundraiser will occur. Lakeland 945 will be hosting February.
It was voted and passed a $100 pre-paid credit card would be purchased. The Website being designed requires a credit card in order for us to get on line. We cannot have a checking account and voted this would be another alternative.
The District 20 Moose Riders will be awarding a plaque to the local lodge Moose Riders group with the most attendance at both Riders and LOOM district meetings beginning in January. Let’s show the District how strong the Riders care about our Moose.

Happy New Year Y’all! Sporty hopes everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas and a super New Year celebration.

I don’t know about you but to Sporty the Holidays are like real hard exercising. It’s exhausting!! All that wrapping, writing, buying, sending, giving, receiving, thanking, eating, cooking, baking, hugging, kissing, not to mention the cleaning, decorating, light hanging and THEN taking it all down, boxing it all up and hauling Totes & Totes of the stuff off to the shed!! (Whew…) Oh yea…I forgot all the talking especially myself (I just can’t be quiet anymoo…now it’s time for

:) RELAXING :)

My favorite way to relax & have a good time is at our lodge (Sporty luv’s ya’s!) I also luv a good pool game and I’m slowly learning to play horseshoes. If ya want a good laugh come watch some Sunday (we start at 1:00) or better yet come Play! We’ve got some great folks out there on Sunday. They even let Me Play.

Now since my article is supposed to be about Moose sport’s (not me L) I’d better give ya’ll the latest in the world of Moose Sports!

The winter session for Thursday night 8 ball just finished our 1st half so I don’t have much as of now…In Division 2 our team DNT REMB is in 4th with The Ridge Raiders hot on our hooves in 5th ourt of 8 teams. That’s pretty good, but we rally need to stomp our hooves off in the 2nd half. I wish I had more info but I only get stat sheets for Pool leagues. Hopefully I’ll have more next month.

If I’ve left out any of our Moose Lodge teams I’m sorry. If you are playing in darts or any Moose Sport and I haven’t mentioned you please let Crash or one of our Bartenders know so I can include you!

Just keep Moos’n Around

I would like to apologize to Roger Armstrong for not listing him in the bulletin boosters for the last two months. What can I say Roger? No excuses. I will tack on two months for not getting you in there.

I was asked to put a Fellowship Day on the calendar for Sunday January 3rd from noon to 5pm (approx). Bring a covered dish to share and enjoy the company of your fellow moose members.

A big THANK YOU to Stan the man for fixing up our doors. We ask that if you absolutely cannot keep yourself from taping things to the doors…at least remove ALL the tape when you take them down…please!

As you all know, it can get cold in the lodge from time to time. Often it is a matter of where you are sitting. Please try to be considerate of other members’ comfort and don’t ask us to turn down or turn off the A/C. If you are often cold…bring a sweater.

I would like to say a few words about what is going on in our lodge. We are going to try to stop some of the swearing that is going on. I know that some times it slips out but if you get asked to stop…please don’t make a joke out of it. We have got our lodge going in the right way not because of me but because of all of us. There are some lodges that are not as lucky as we are.
I try to put my efforts into seeing that we stay headed in the right direction.

I may offend some people some times but I don’t mean too…so I am going to apologize if I have. I would like any member who has a problem with me or our help to please bring it to me instead of sitting around in the lodge and telling everybody else. Please take it to the board.
